Meet Feminist Power Honoree Sheri Salata

The Feminist Press 2017 Feminist Power Awards will be held on October 16 in NYC. This annual tradition celebrates leaders whose work advances human rights, dignity, and empowerment. Among our honorees for 2017, we are celebrating STORY cofounder Sheri Salata.

STORY is a media company producing print, television, film and digital content. Ms. Salata’s new venture in media is the evolution of her life-altering twenty-year career with Oprah Winfrey where she served as the final Executive Producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Sheri also served as President of Harpo Studios and the OWN network before founding STORY.

Ms. Salata has been named one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business and the Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100. A graduate of the University of Iowa, she currently lives in Los Angeles.

It takes a feminist like Ms. Salata to tell innovative stories that reflect the diverse world we live in. The Feminist Press is thrilled to award Ms. Salata a Feminist Power Award for her contributions to media and business innovation.

Meet Sheri and party with her and fellow honorees Alphonso B. David, Jenny Lumet, Riane Eisler, Brandon Steiner, and Lisa Topol at Edison Ballroom on October 16. For tickets, click here. For sponsorship opportunities or media inquiries, please contact Lucia Brown 212-817-7928
