October news from FP 🍂

IT CAME FROM THE CLOSET contributors celebrate at 3 Dollar Bill!

Happy October!

We hope your spooky season is off to a great start. We kicked off this month by publishing the must-read queer horror anthology IT CAME FROM THE CLOSET, edited by Joe Vallese. Thanks to everyone who supported our Kickstarter project, attended our launch events, and/or purchased a copy (or two)! Your support means the world to us.

In this month's newsletter, we share some exciting updates about new titles, upcoming events, and some fire news! Grab yourself some candy corn and dive in.

WHAT’S NEW AT FP

WE'RE HIRING!

We're now accepting applications for our paid spring 2023 apprenticeship program. If you (or someone you know!) are looking to learn more about feminist publishing, this is the role for you!

Apprentices are key members of the FP team and make significant contributions to our organization. They are involved in every level of our work, from proofreading forthcoming books to mailing advanced review copies. We are particularly interested in candidates with editorial and/or graphic design experience.

Applications are due Friday, November 4. Apply today!

MAJOR BAG ALERT

In celebration of IT CAME FROM THE CLOSET, we've launched a limited edition Feminist Press tote featuring a design by cover artist Bráulio Amado. This sturdy cotton tote can hold it all, from too many library books to allllll the Halloween candy.

Show off your FP pride in style with this spooky bag. Check it out!

ARE YOU OUR NEXT AUTHOR?

All summer long and into fall, our small but mighty staff has been working on reading an unprecedented volume of submissions we've received over the past year. We're just about ready to relaunch our new and improved submissions portal; please check the submissions page on our website and follow us on social for updates soon! We can't wait to read what you've been working on.
