A note from the Feminist Press on COVID-19

Dear Friends,

We care deeply about you and everyone who has been impacted by COVID-19 worldwide. Our thoughts are with you as we navigate this unprecedented situation and work together to help flatten the pandemic’s curve.

It is important to us to share how we have been taking action to promote the health and safety of our community. We have transitioned to a remote work environment and redirected our in-house website orders to Bookshop.org until we are able to return to our New York City offices. Additionally, as a result of monitoring this escalating public health crisis, we have also canceled or postponed our participation in several conferences, book events, and book fairs through the end of May.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this transition. Unfortunately, given the current state of events, the April 6 reading of First Mondays: Honoring the Feminist Press has been indefinitely postponed.  We want to apologize for any confusion our earlier email blast (to our New York community), which had been previously scheduled, might have caused.

Fifty years strong, the Feminist Press will continue to publish books that ignite movements and social transformation to create a world where everyone recognizes themselves in a book. No matter what, we’re committed to being here for you and each other.

In the meantime, please join us in celebrating our fearless founder Florence Howe’s 91st birthday tomorrow on March 17. We’ll be shouting out her work and legacy on social media and would love to share your birthday wishes too.

Thank you for your trust in the Feminist Press. We value our relationship with you and are excited to stay *safely* connected. Until we meet again IRL, scrub your hands, and take good care.

In solidarity,

Jamia and the Feminist Press Team
