Feminist books light up our world

As we move deeper into fall, days are getting shorter and nights are getting darker. But whenever we’re feeling in need of a little light, we turn to feminist literature.

Feminist books have always been here to guide us through dark times. They speak truth to power in the face of atrocity—from Baghdad Burning by Riverbend, an Iraqi woman’s blog of life under US occupation, to Still Alive by Ruth Kluger, a memoir of surviving the Holocaust. And they show us new possibilities for being, like the refuge forged by two young lovers in June Jordan’s His Own Where or the unwavering vision of trans and nonbinary community in Travis Alabanza’s None of the Above

At Feminist Press, we believe in the power of feminist literature to serve as a guiding light—to remind us of the lessons from our past, sustain us through the present, and pave a new and liberatory future.

Will you help us sustain this light by investing in another year of feminist publishing? Don’t forget—if you donate today, your gift will be matched by our matching donor.

With gratitude,

The Feminist Press team—Margot, Lauren, Lucia, Kameel, Rachel G., Nadine, Alicia, Rachel P., and Drew
