The Feminist Press staff is deeply saddened by the passing of activist and author Barbara Ehrenreich. Ehrenreich is the author of the 2002 New York Times bestseller Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America. She has written nearly twenty books, and was a columnist for Time magazine and the New York Times.

We are honored to be the publisher of two books co-authored by Ehrenreich, Witches, Midwives, & Nurses and Complaints & Disorders. First published by the Feminist Press in 1973 and co-written with Deirdre English, Witches, Midwives, & Nurses is an essential book about the corruption of the medical establishment and its historic roots in witch hunters. In Complaints & Disorders, Ehrenreich and English explore how the sexual politics of medical practices were used to justify sex discrimination throughout history.

We are deeply grateful for Ehrenreich’s tireless commitment to activism and are honored to be one of her publishers.
