Support feminist books
Dear Friends,
Here at the Feminist Press we continue to publish books that are innovative and provocative, that reach out to new generations of feminists and tell a different story, one that you won’t find coming from mainstream, for-profit publishers. And we’ve been doing it for 40 years—yes, 2010 will be the start of a year-long celebration of the best of feminist publishing and a renewal of our commitment to bring our books to communities in need, whether a mud brick school in Ethiopia, a battered women’s shelter in New York City (our intern delivering those books underwent a major investigation before she was given the address), or national after school programs for girls interested in science.
We have a great deal to celebrate, but this year it has been harder than ever to do what we do–to give voice to women and men committed to social justice. I know you hear it many times–too often in this difficult economic environment–but we truly need your help. Please take the time to make a fully tax-deductible donation to the Feminist Press right now. Your donation goes directly towards publishing, cultural engagement, and donating free books to underfunded community groups.
No amount is too small! Here’s how you can help fund some of our specific needs:
- $5 buys a ream of paper
- $10 pays for an intern for one day
- $25 pays for a book shipped to an international community in need
- $50 pays for an intern for one week (we really need our interns)
And we'll be sure to let you know about all of our 40th anniversary books and celebrations.
Thank you!
Gloria Jacobs
Executive Director
