NADJE AL-ALI is a social anthropologist working at the new Centre for Gender Studies at the University of London, UK. She is a founding member of Act Together: Women's Action on Iraq. Her publications include Iraqi Women: Untold Stories from 1948 to the Present; Secularism, Gender and the State in the Middle East; and New Approaches to Migration.
