Teaching About Violence Against Women

Men's violence against women—both hidden and visible—cannot be understood separately from gender, as many different forms of violence are directly tied to patriarchy: pornography, prostitution and trafficking, sexual harassment, incest, rape, battering, and female sexual mutilation, all of which work to constrict women's personal freedom and right to self-determination.
